Like the successfull 1st international conference on Underwater Acoustic Measurements held in June/July 2005, the 2nd international conference will focus on underwater acoustic measurements,
the applied technologies and the results obtained. As many theoretical
and computational predictions are available in the field of underwater
acoustics and as several important experimental studies ranging
from model scale tests in laboratories to full scale tests at sea
have been performed over the past or are planned to take place in
the near future, it is timely again to review the whole field of underwater
acoustic measurements. This shall not exclude inputs from theoretical
or computational underwater acoustics but emphasis of this conference
will be on underwater acoustic measurements.
Monday 25th June through Friday 29th June 2007
The conference will be held at Foundation for Research and Technology
- HELLAS, Heraklion, Crete, Greece.
Professor John. S. Papadakis, F.O.R.T.H., Crete.
Professor Leif Bjørnø, UltraTech Holding, Denmark.
of Crete (Greece)
of Naval Research (USA)
of Naval Research - Global, London (UK)
- NATO Undersea Research Center, La Spezia (Italy)
- DSTL, Naval Systems (UK)
- The Acoustical Society of America (USA)
- Institute of Acoustics (UK)
- Marine Physical Laboratory Scripps (USA)
- Polish Acoustical Society (Poland)
- Naval Academy, Gdynia (Poland)
An exhibition by leading international manufacturers of state-of-the-art technologies, equipment and services for underwater acoustic measurements, surveys and control of underwater processes will form an integrated part of the conference and will be arranged in the central area of the conference space. As the conference participants include several senior decicion makers in exploitation of underwater acoustics as well as top scientists in this area, the exhibition forms a very important opportunity for hardware and software manufacturers and for providers of consulting and scientific services to meet with their customers during the exhibition which, like the conference, will focus on an audience representing the civil, the commercial and the military sectors involved with all aspects of underwater acoustic measurements and technologies.
As said by an exhibitor in the 1st international conference and exhibition on Underwater Acoustic Measurements: Technologies and Results, which took place on Crete in June 2005: "The number of participants visiting our stand and the high level of scientific papers presented made the UAM2005-days strongly interesting and allowed us to learn much more about the need of our customers in underwater acoustic measurements. It will definitely be a pleasure for us to take part in the exhibition in relation to UAM2007. (Pietro Basciano, Sales Vice President, RESON Group).
Scientists and engineers from universities, research institutes,
government organizations and industry dealing with aspects of underwater
acoustics. Representatives for naval material commands and procurement
offices. The conference will provide a forum for exchange of recent
research results, for discussion of future challenges in implementation
and application of underwater acoustic technologies, and the conference
will display the latest advances in instrumentation.
